The Semantics rock Bass Line Station

Last night, The Semantics played Bass Line Station.

Daniel Guy – Drums
Ian MacLean – Guitar, Vocals
Shaun Kerridge – Guitar
Andrew O’Hara – Bass, Vocals

I’ve known Shaun, Andy and Ian since high-school… (Andy and I were highly dysfunctional lab partners in Grade 9 science with B. Schwab, Shaun and I used to jam at lunch, and Ian is my Archnemesis.) Desipite the fact they say they’ve only been together for a year, I know it’s closer to 10! Good stage presence, fun banter and Ian’s (kill you later) naked elbows had the girls screaming. But most of all – an excellent show. I don’t know what their intentions are, but I think they’ve got potential to go somewhere; The rock is solid, performance left little to be desired, tho I thought the ballads are still needing some work – but I’ve never been a big fan of ballads anyway. 🙂 Hit their MySpace page to hear a couple songs.

Bass Line Station is just a wicked name for a venue, tucked in the middle of an uninteresting strip-mall… on Baseline Road! Of course I had to save the day, providing Intel Basic Rail Kit Installation Manual as paper for the set-list to be written on. 😉 Hey! And here’re my photos from the show.

Next time they play – Go! It’s better than sitting in church with Alanis 😉
