Memories of Skiing 2013 – A Recap

The goal was to ski as much as possible…

Since everyone is wondering about #RepairedWrist, I did had some wrist pain when planting my poles, but after talking with my surgeon, he suggested taping it. (And we declared we’d rather never see each other again.) I got some KT Tape and that really helped – a lot. In fact, after a couple hours of skiing with it, I found my left wrist feeling better than the right!

My #TronJacket was the sleeper hit of the winter, and my new goggles were just awesome
Mont Ste. Marie held midnight ski – no lights, just the chairlift and a full-moon! (And a pile of glowsticks!)
I worked on my impressive ski-bum beard; it would freeze up with ice and keep my face warm.

We tried RunKeeper, Alpine Replay and Ski Tracks tracking apps on our smartphones…

… and learned some scary stats.

I think this was the first year I skied with so many people too; Josée, Gabe, Matt, Ursula, Chris, Ben, and Sean has a GoPro:

Even got my dad out!
(with my racing poles…)

Matt and I got stuck on the chairlift twice at Camp Fortune due to recurring power outages.

Edelweiss had a smokin’ deal: After March 1st, their ‘Spring Ski’ pass was $50 and good for skiing at any time. So basically two outings and it paid for itself. I got a a lot of value out of that 🙂

I was hoping to get one final outing in early April, but Camp Fortune’s lift-motor seized.

Can’t wait for next year!
