err… That’d be the interface configuration on my MacBook Pro connected via BlueTooth to my Razr V3 to Roger’s GPRS/EDGE IP Network.
err… Perhaps I should say I can now get on the Internet with my laptop anywhere my Rogers cellphone has service.
One of my clients has signed a 99.95% SLA with their customer, and I’m the only guy running the show. (Kill me now.)
The idea is that now if anything blows up, I can login from wherever I am and fix or diagnose things withouth needing to rush to find free WiFi or go home. And there’s no way I’d pay for this service on my own – can’t even justify it for Server North‘s or mWare‘s use.
Putting it together… In December I linked to these instructions which referred to some configuration files. Combined with an Word (uhg) doc from a Rogers wireless rep and a 27 minute phone call to Rogers during which I spoke with no less than 5 agents… I got things going! 🙂
(Though one of the reps has to call me back because apparently when she added the service to my account it came up at $0/mo for a $100/mo Data 100 package…!)
So now if I’m sitting at home, I’ve got access to ADSL, cable, GPRS/EDGE and leachable WiFi to access the internet.
But I can log off any time.
I swear.
