Uneventful drive back. We met up with Dave for lunch, and then by a stroke of brilliance, I remember that we were 2 blocks from the store that I’d bought the Tyan motherboards from – so I got that taken care of too. They can to do all the RMA dancing and pay for shipping/duties 🙂

I installed Cacti in one of the jails last night, it’s interesting, makes a lot of things easy, but I really don’t like the notion of a PHP-based polling script. Also, the workflow on the webgui is atrocious and completely unintuitive – I still haven’t been able to figure out how to add my own custom script and graph to anything. Of course it also still uses MySuQL, so I’m not exactly expecting perfection here.

Why does Sean think a Mac user’s desk is supposed to be pristine? I thought that was a sign of a simple mind? 😉
