So there were no drop-in appointments left the other day, so I had to book for this evening.

After trying to resuscitate it, the Genius took my iPhone out back (dun dun dunnnn) and checked it’s internal connections – #4 was loose. He brought it back out front, and we tried syncing it again, but it crashed just the same… still couldn’t get it into DFU mode either.

At this point I’m getting a little desperate, since the iPhone is the easiest way for me to type (more on that later), I was about to launch into a plea to let me buy AppleCare and have him replace it, when he simply says he’s going to make an exception and replace my iPhone. Outside of the warranty.

Just like that.

2 minutes later I walked out with a brand new 3G (not 3GS) … wow.

How awesome is that?
